“Our society should be judged by how we treat the most vulnerable among us.”
Yetta has inspired us as a consistent and effective voice for the voiceless. This includes her passionate defense of the rights of animals and the humans who love them.
An out-and-proud vegan, Yetta works to insure that all animals are treated humanely and with the respect they deserve. From horses in the carriage industry to pet owners in public housing, Yetta Kurland's advocacy extends to all.
Yetta will continue to work to ban the use of carriage horses in New York City. Likewise, she has long advocated for more dog runs in city parks, free of any charge. She has pressed for a housing bill that will allow seniors and all New Yorkers to enjoy their lives with the animals they love.
